There are life changing moments that you never want to face, until it happens to you.
Back in 2011, sarah and her family were touched by West Mercia Search And Rescue when the search began for Sarah’s brother, who went missing after a night out in Shrewsbury. Unfortunately, Mark, Sarah’s brother had fell into the River Severn which tragically took his life. At that moment, Sarah and her family faced that unexpected life changing moment.
Eight years on, Sarah decided it was to time to fundraise in memory of her brother and to make contact with West Mercia Search And Rescue, a local charity very close to her heart, for that reason.
“Each year, we hold an annual fundraising event at the salon, to raise money for charity. Previously we have supported The Street Pastors, Look Good Feel Better and Severn Hospice, with the help form our clients. We enjoy doing our bit for the community where possible and I would recommend anyone to get involved with fundraising or volunteering for a charity, it is so worth while ”
Over the festive period, to coincide with seven years of business. Sarah hosted a beauty evening event, which was ticket only. The night was a success and from the sales of the tickets, raffle and kind donations, Sarah and team raised an astonishing £600 ?
is Sarah’s proud moment, handing over the cheque to Matt, a Search
Manager who was called out on that very night, in 2011. It was an
emotional moment for Sarah and she hopes to learn more about the amazing
work, West Mercia Search And Rescue do for our community.
“Without your support, we could not of raised this generous amount of money. Thank you very much, Sarah” ?
