When I look back at this photo I have so many mixed emotions. My first thought that springs to mind is how did I juggle so much. I had a new business to run, a toddler under my feet, grief from losing a loved one and a course in higher education to fulfil. It was a challenging time. But I managed (somehow) without a social life, long days at the salon and long evenings learning how to teach in FE, whilst my son was asleep.
But despite all of that, I graduated and gained my teaching qualification. My family joined me on my memorable day and it was lovely to see them smile again
Over the years, I have kept a good relationship with Shrewsbury college. I regularly kept in contact with the beauty department. I have judged competitions days, demonstrated professional treatments and welcomed students at the salon for their work placement . I have also ran community workshops for priory school.
Now that my salon is temporarily closed and I have no social life (again) due to the pandemic. It is time to put my teaching skills to good use. Therefore, I have decided to create my very own online workshops which I can deliver from my home to yours.
I recently did a poll on social media asking my followers what would they like to learn from home and the most popular answers were Aromatherapy, self massage and make-up.
I have found my motivation again and I can’t wait to start my newest venture..
